Sports Physiotherapy
At Burleigh Central Physiotherapy, we understand that sporting injuries are different. The demands of your sport, your training load, and your goals all shape how we approach your recovery — and getting you back on the field, court, or track as quickly and safely as possible is always the priority.
We work with everyone from weekend warriors and local club players to elite-level athletes, providing the same high standard of care regardless of your level.
Trusted by local and elite sporting clubs
Our team currently provides sports medicine services to the Burleigh Bears Hostplus Cup squad, as well as support to the Brisbane Broncos Rugby League Club and the Palm Beach Soccer Club. This hands-on experience at a high-performance level means you’re in the hands of physios who understand what it takes to perform, recover, and stay on the field.
How we treat you
Thorough assessment — We assess not just the injury, but the demands of your sport and the movement patterns that may have contributed to it. Understanding the full picture means smarter, faster recovery.
Hands-on treatment — Targeted manual therapy to reduce pain, restore joint mobility, and improve tissue quality — including massage, dry needling, trigger point therapy, and taping or bracing.
Exercise rehabilitation — Sport-specific exercise programs designed to rebuild strength, restore movement, and progressively return you to full training. We don’t just get you pain-free — we get you performing.
Personalised treatment plan — Every athlete is different. Your plan is built around your injury, your sport, your timeline, and your goals.
Injury prevention — We look beyond the current injury to identify movement faults, muscle imbalances, and training load issues that could put you at risk down the track.
Clear return-to-sport timelines — You’ll always know where you’re at in your recovery and what milestones need to be hit before you’re back competing.

What is Sports Physiotherapy?
Sports Physiotherapy is a specialised branch of physiotherapy that caters to the needs of athletes, helping to optimise their performance and recover from sporting injuries.
While our bodies are all the same, people that play sports frequently may need to be managed differently. This is because an athlete will end up putting a higher demand on their body, causing stress to their joints, muscles and bones.
Whether you have hurt yourself lifting weights in the gym, or you have torn a muscle playing high-level sport, our knowledgeable sports physiotherapists are here to aid your recovery. We understand the strain placed on the human body when pursuing peak performance, and will accurately diagnose your injury and tailor a treatment plan to get you back up and running quickly.
In addition to helping athletes recover from injuries, a sports physiotherapist also provides education. This may involve preventive measures such as changing certain movements to reduce the likelihood of further injury, or recommending a different approach to physical activity. By improving your movement patterns with proper technique and training modifications, we can help to optimise your performance and offer injury prevention strategies.
